Esbayeni loses their breath with ‘Suffocate’

It was music, movies and a touch of Suffocate on Esbayeni with DJ Mgedeza and The Mighty L in studio; and our favourite guluza, Zola in the streets, today.

Kicking it off, we started with #DankieDriver where the driver requested his choice of music by a voice note, dedicating it to his significant other.

We followed up with our first topic of the day, ahead of the National Budget Speech to be delivered by Finance Minister, Tito Mboweni this afternoon and asked people what tips they would give the Minister as he’s faced with quite the daunting task.

Mduduzi Mabaso, otherwise well known by his character name Suffocate, on local series, Rhythm City then joined us in studio.

He brought great energy into the studio and was ready to have nothing but a rocking, real and relevant time.

Mduduzi is different from his rough-around-the-edges character Suffocate, although he admits to sharing some characteristics with his character.

“What people don’t know is that, I’m actually very different from how they see and think I am. The only thing I’d say we have in common with ‘Suffocate’ is that, we both have a soft spot for children and we care about our families more than anything,” he explained. Listen to the rest of his conversation, here:

Finally, we wrapped the show with a competition, where we gave away 2 movie tickets to watch a brand new movie “What Men Want” – courtesy of Ster Kinekor and Massiv Metro.

That’s all from your favourite township duo on #Esbayeni. Be sure to tune in again tomorrow on www.massivmetro.com between 12:00 and 15:00, CAT for more Rocking, Real and Relevant content.
