5 Things We Learnt From Zulu Mecca On The Element

Rapper and actress, ZuluMecca, kicked it on The Element with The Pristine Queen and chopped it up about her 3-piece EP, FABLE, the partnership with STAYLOW and what else we can expect from her both musically and on our TV screens.

Here are 5 key things that we learnt from ZuluMecca:

  1. Don’t attach guilt to Prayer

“I don’t like attaching guilt to prayer. If I miss it, it was for a reason. So I don’t like feeling anxious and guilty afterwards”

  1. Leave your ego at the door

“You know, I can rap and I can rap really well. But, there’s a certain part of me when I step into studio that needs to leave the ego at the door. Because, when I step into studio, I need to be able to learn and to grow as an artist – especially if there’s other artists and musicians in studio. So, that’s the most important thing, for me, is to leave my ego at the door and be open to trying new things. I need to be open and I need to be teachable – that thought happens to me every time I step into the studio… it’s a conscious decision”

  1. Be it, don’t look like it

“I’m interested in making money – it’s not about APPEARING to make my money”

  1. Sometimes We Talk Too Much

“Don’t Say Nuthin’ – do the work and get the money”

  1. Tell The Truth

“The one thing I always advocate for is telling the truth. Whatever that means for you and in whatever form that comes in, just tell the truth. From there, everything will start to fall into the place”.

The Element is presented by The Pristine Queen, Azizzar, and broadcasts every weeknight from 18:00-20:00, CAT, all #ForTheLoveOfHipHop.
