The Massiv Metro team have had the absolute pleasure of testing and reviewing the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G – and all in all, we have to say we are pretty impressed.

From back to front, this device has a premium but simple look to it. The display is super smooth and is quite different to the other A-Series devices that we have tested before. Adding to the premium feel, the soft matte look is sleek and stylish and gives the phone some extra grip in the hand, leaving no fingerprints behind. This matte feel has a similar look to that of the S21.

Using the Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G during an in-studio session, we noticed that the phone is very light in the hand, making it really easy to work with – especially while holding it up for filming and when switching between social media and photography.

Although we used the device for about 4 hours at one time, the battery life was very reasonable, lasting about 1 and a half days before we needed to charge it up again. Of course, this would also be very dependent on how much you use the device and the number of apps/ programmes running at one time.

Swiping through the phone we noticed that the device responds very fast and efficiently with no lag. The screen colours are vibrant, and the quality is really great. With a Quad camera on board, we decided to test the overall camera quality and we have to say that it lived up to expectations. We took some pictures outdoors using the default camera with no additional settings. The colours seem to adjust accordingly and really pop in daylight. So, you don’t have to be a camera guru to get a really dope shot – perfect for the ‘gram!

The video camera was also impressive, and it has a steady mode if you want to take a steady and smooth looking video, which we think is an awesome feature. The phone really has some amazing innovations such as awesome selfie cameras, Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS), Night mode and Pro Video mode.

Photo taken in a darkened studio using Night mode. The camera automatically adjusted and brightened the image.

Outdoor Photos

Photo taken outdoors, showing the vivid colours picked up by the device using its own automatic settings.

Another super cool premium security feature is the fingerprint scanner and facial recognition. This makes accessing your home screen so much faster, safer and more efficient. In addition, we noticed that the device adjusts it’s lighting when you are in a darker environment, so that you can still unlock your device. How smart is that?

The Samsung Galaxy A52s 5G does come with a fast charger, which is great when you need a quick charge.

It would have been nice to get some additional accessories in the box such as headphone to plug into the headphone jack, however, considering the excellent features and solid price point, there are no real complaints.

Overall, we think this is a perfect mid-range priced mobile device that really packs a punch!
